Overview

The menu in Pratham ResPOS is organised as:

Categories
  └── Products
        ├── Modifiers (toppings/extras)
        ├── Variants (sizes/options)
        └── Deals (combos, BOGO, bundles)

Categories

Categories group products for easy navigation on the POS screen.

Creating a Category

  1. Navigate to POS Settings → Menu (or the back-office menu management).
  2. Tap Add Category.
  3. Enter:
    • Category Name (required)
    • Display Sequence — Order in which it appears on the POS
    • Image — Optional category image
    • Colour — Optional colour for the category tile
  4. Tap Save.

Reordering Categories

Use drag-and-drop to reorder categories in the list, or update the sequence number manually.

Products

Creating a Product

  1. Open the relevant category.
  2. Tap Add Product.
  3. Fill in the product details:

  1. Tap Save.

Disabling a Product Temporarily

Toggle the Available switch to hide a product from the POS without deleting it. Useful for items that are sold out.


Modifiers

Modifiers are extras or options that customers select when adding a product (e.g., toppings on a pizza, sauce choices on a burger).

Creating a Modifier Group

  1. Open the product.
  2. Tap Add Modifier Group.
  3. Enter:
    • Group Name (e.g., "Choose your sauce")
    • Minimum selections (0 = optional, 1+ = required)
    • Maximum selections (limit how many can be chosen)
  4. Add individual modifiers to the group:
    • Name
    • Price (0 for free)
    • Half Price (for use with half & half products)
  5. Save.

Modifier groups appear in the customisation popup when a customer orders the product.

Product Variants

Variants represent different versions of the same product, each with its own price (e.g., Small $10, Medium $14, Large $18).

Adding Variants to a Product

  1. Open the product.
  2. Tap Add Variant.
  3. For each variant, enter:
    • Variant Name (e.g., Small, Medium, Large)
    • Price
    • Measurement Unit (optional — e.g., ml, kg, oz)
    • SKU / GTIN (optional — for inventory tracking)
  4. Save.

When staff tap this product on the POS, they are prompted to select a variant.


Time-Based Discounts

Products can have automatic discounts applied at specific times (e.g., Happy Hour pricing).

  1. Open the product.
  2. Tap Add Schedule / Discount.
  3. Configure:
    • Day(s) of the week
    • Start and end time
    • Discount amount (flat or percentage)
    • Applies to: Dine-In, Takeaway, Online, or all
  4. Save.

The discount applies automatically when orders are created during the scheduled time.


Customising Product Display

Product Card Layout

In POS Settings → Display, you can change how products appear on the POS screen:

  • Compact — Smaller tiles, more products visible
  • Detailed — Larger tiles with images

Show/Hide Product Images

Toggle product images on or off for the product grid tiles.

Category Colours and Icons

Assign custom colours and icons to categories in Category Customisation settings.


Receipt Customisation

The receipt layout can be configured in Receipt Customisation settings:

  • Business name, logo, and contact details
  • Custom header and footer messages
  • Show/hide individual fields (tax breakdown, modifiers, etc.)
  • ABN display
