Cash Up
Cash Up is the process of reconciling your cash and card transactions at the end of a shift or trading day. It compares what the system recorded against what you physically count.

When to Do Cash Up
- At the end of each shift (if running multiple shifts per day), or
- At the end of each trading day.
Your manager will set the cashup start time in POS Settings, which determines the cut-off for each cashup period.
Before You Start
Before opening the Cash Up screen:
- Count all cash in the till (excluding the starting float if you're keeping it for the next shift).
- Reconcile your EFTPOS terminal — most terminals print an end-of-day report with the total card transactions.
- Have the total of any safe drops (cash removed from the till during the shift) ready.
Cash Up Process
Step 1 — Open Cash Up
Navigate to Cash Up in the main menu.
Step 2 — Select the Date
The system shows available cashup dates. Select today's date (or the correct shift date).
You will see a summary of:
- Total orders for the period
- Total sales
- Average order value
- Discount total
- Tax collected
- Void and cancelled order counts
Step 3 — Review Expected Amounts
The system pre-fills expected amounts based on recorded transactions:
| Field | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Expected Till Amount | Cash the system recorded from all cash orders |
| Expected EFTPOS Amount | Card transactions the system recorded |
| Expected Float Amount | Starting cash you should have in the till |
Step 4 — Enter Actual Amounts
Count and enter what you physically have:
| Field | What to Enter |
|---|---|
| Actual Till Amount | Cash you counted in the till |
| Actual EFTPOS Amount | Total from the terminal's end-of-day report |
| Float Amount | Starting cash you are keeping for the next shift |
| Safe Drop Amount | Cash removed from the till during the shift |
| Money Taken Out | Any additional cash withdrawals during the shift |
Step 5 — Review Discrepancies
The system calculates the difference between expected and actual amounts for each category.
- A positive discrepancy means you have more than expected.
- A negative discrepancy means you have less than expected.
Investigate any significant discrepancies before completing.

Step 6 — Complete Cash Up
Tap Complete Cash Up (or Submit) to finalise the reconciliation.
A cashup report is generated and saved. It can be reprinted from the Cash Up history.

Payment Method Breakdown
The cashup screen shows a breakdown for each payment method:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Method | Payment method name (Cash, Card, Gift Card, Other) |
| Transaction Count | Number of transactions for this method |
| Expected Amount | System-recorded total |
| Actual Amount | Amount you entered |
| Discrepancy | Difference (expected minus actual) |
Order Summary in Cashup
The cashup report includes a full order summary:
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Total Orders | All orders in the period |
| Total Sales | Gross revenue |
| Average Order Value | Sales divided by order count |
| Total Discounts | All discounts applied |
| Tax Collected | GST or tax collected |
| Void Orders | Number and value of voided orders |
| Cancelled Orders | Number and value of cancelled orders |
| Refunded Orders | Number and value of refunds processed |
Advance Cash / Cash Advances
If cash needs to be taken from the till during the shift (e.g., for petty cash):
- Tap Advance Cash in the Cash Up screen.
- Enter the amount being taken.
- Add a note describing the reason.
- Tap Confirm.
All cash advances are tracked and appear in the cashup discrepancy calculation as Money Taken Out.
Multi-Terminal Cashup
If your location runs multiple POS terminals, each terminal's cashup is tracked separately by its terminal name. The cashup screen displays the terminal identifier so you know which till you are reconciling.
Viewing Past Cashups
- Navigate to Cash Up.
- Tap History or select a past date.
- View or reprint any previous cashup report.
