First-Time Setup
This guide walks through the initial configuration of Pratham ResPOS on a new device. This is typically performed by the IT team or an administrator — most staff will never need to do this.

What You Need Before Starting
Before beginning, have the following ready:
| Item | Where to Get It |
|---|---|
| Client ID | Provided to your business on registration. Contact the Pratham team if you don't have it. |
| Admin Username & Password | Created during your account registration |
| Terminal | Must be pre-created in the Admin Portal by your administrator or IT team |
Step 1 — Welcome Screen
When the app is opened for the first time (or after a reconfiguration), the Welcome screen appears.

The screen summarises what you'll need and what the setup process involves:
- Your Client ID and admin credentials
- A terminal pre-assigned to your outlet in the Admin Portal
Tap Get Started to continue.
Step 2 — Admin Login
The login screen appears next.

Enter the following:
| Field | What to Enter |
|---|---|
| Client ID | Your business's numeric Client ID |
| Username | Your admin username |
| Password | Your admin password |
Tap Sign In.
If login fails, double-check the Client ID is correct — it must be a number, not text. Contact your administrator if you do not have credentials.
Step 3 — Select Your Outlet
After a successful login, the Select Your Outlet screen appears.

- Tap the Select Outlet dropdown and choose your location.
- The outlet's details are shown for confirmation:
- Name and type
- Phone number
- Supported order types (Dine-In, Takeaway, Delivery)
- Address
Verify this is the correct outlet before continuing.
Step 4 — Select a Terminal
Once an outlet is selected, the Select Terminal dropdown appears below the outlet details.

- Tap the Select Terminal dropdown.
- Choose the terminal assigned to this device.
- Tap Continue to POS.
No terminals listed? Terminals must be created in the Admin Portal before setup. Contact your administrator to create a terminal for this outlet.
Terminal Already in Use
If the selected terminal is currently registered to a different device, a warning dialog appears:

"[Terminal Name] In Use" This terminal is currently being used by another device. Continuing will log out the existing device from this terminal.
- Tap Continue to take over the terminal on this device.
- Tap Cancel to go back and select a different terminal.
Only use Continue if you are intentionally moving a terminal to a new device. The previous device will be logged out of this terminal.
Step 5 — POS Ready
After the terminal is confirmed, the POS loads and is ready to use.

From here, the next steps are typically:
- Configure POS Settings — order types, receipt printing, discounts, loyalty
- Set up printers and hardware
- Configure your payment gateway
Reconfiguring from the Login Screen
If the POS needs to be reset and set up again — for example, when moving to a new outlet or replacing a device — this can be done from the staff login screen without needing to access any settings.
Image: Screenshot of the login screen showing the Configure button
- On the Login screen, tap Configure next to "Do you want to configure app again?".
- A confirmation dialog appears listing everything that will be deleted.

The following data will be permanently removed from this device:
- Restaurant & Outlet Settings
- Printer Settings
- Current Cart & Saved Orders
- Receipt Customisations
- Theme & Layout Preferences
- Staff Authentication Data
- Tap Yes, Reconfigure POS to confirm.
- The app resets and returns to the Welcome screen.
This action cannot be undone. You will need to complete the full setup process again. Orders and customer data stored on the server are not affected — only local device data is cleared.
